Esther

As a child, Karla Dornacher only dreamt of being an artist. “I wanted to be an artist when I grew up but I didn’t paint my first picture until I was more than 40 years old. Today, I continually thank God for being able to do what I love and be a blessing to others at the same time!”

Karla is a self-taught artist with a passion for sharing a message of love, encouragement, and blessing through her art and writings. Her warm devotional style of writing with a focus on faith, family and friendships, together with her heartwarming illustrations, has brought comfort, hope and healing to many women nationwide and beyond.

She has written and illustrated sixteen books, three of which were on the CBA Bestsellers list including Love In Every Room and Down A Garden Path. Her books have sold over 450,000 copies and well over 500 gift and home decor products have been created from her original watercolor art including greeting cards, stoneware, fabric, crafts and more.

Karla’s recent adventure into art journaling has played an important role in expanding her creative portfolio of styles. Today, not only will you discover the familiar watercolors that she’s most known for, but also her more contemporay acrylic paintings, fun mixed media, and a playful style of pen and ink.

Karla and her husband, Michael, have been married more than 39 years and live near Battle Ground, WA., only minutes away from Michelle, their only child... an amazing artist herself, son-in-law Gary, and their two delightful granddaughters, Alexis and Jessica.
